| Susan & Bobs Place | This page is for self-reliant outdoors enthusiasts who wish to know more about non-commercial, low-cost travel opportunities created by like-minded folks. Our fifteen year old recreation network comprises more than a hundred people from 35 states; many of whom join at least one of our self-outfitted group trips each year. We generally utilize our feet, vans, or water craft for transportation. These 7-14 day long trips are always outdoors and camping-oriented. |
| National Park Service - The Grand Canyon | The Grand Canyon is more than a great chasm carved over millennia through the rocks of the Colorado Plateau. It is more than an awe-inspiring view. It is more than a pleasuring ground for those who explore the roads, hike the trails, or float the currents of the turbulent Colorado River. This canyon is a gift that transcends what we experience. Its beauty and size humble us. Its timelessness provokes a comparison to our short existence. In its vast spaces we may find solace from our hectic lives. The Grand Canyon we visit today is a gift from past generations. |
| RIJIM Home page | Through this web page, Kathy and I will share with you some of our Grand Canyon backcountry adventures. Over the past few years, we have strived to improve our equipment and menu with the goal of reducing our pack weights, and at the same time extending the length of our treks. |
